How come Manfred Rinderspacher is able to take pictures at the Mehldau-Redman concert, when it is “verboten”? Were these photos taken during the soundcheck, then?
Yes, they were taken at the Soundcheck. Even then, the management of Mehldau didn’t allow more than 5 minutes for the photographers (at least that was my information).
Personally I don’t take images at soundchecks, because I feel they don’t have the same intensity as photographs taken during the concert.
And I try to avoid concerts where the musicians are restrictive towards photographers.
